Private notes on profiles

Add your own private note to any profile, for example why it wasn’t the right match or anything you want to remember. Notes are visible only to you and appear when you open that profile. No more forgetting which profiles you’ve already looked at or why.

Q&A in requests

Ask the questions that matter before taking things further. Questions on your profile: add your own questions to your profile. Anyone who wants to send you a request answers them first. Questions with a request: when you send a request, you can attach your own questions. The other person answers them before accepting. Questions and answers are free text, so you can ask anything that’s important to you. What would you ask?

Like profiles

Let someone know you’re interested before you send a request. Many people hold back from sending a request because they worry it’ll be declined. When you like a profile, that person can see you’re interested, which can give them the confidence to take the next step. Your likes aren’t shown to anyone else. If you both like each other, we’ll nudge you to send a request.

Who viewed your profile

Find out who’s interested in you. From your own profile, you’ll be able to see who has viewed it, so you can check their profile and send a request if it looks like a match. Note: when you open someone’s profile, they’ll be able to see that you viewed it.

Translate a profile's About section

Read a profile’s About section in the other language with one tap. If the About is in English, tap Translate to read it in Malayalam. If it’s in Malayalam, you’ll get English. Tap See original at any time to switch back. When you copy a profile or share it as a PDF, it uses whatever you’re viewing: the translation, marked as auto-translated, or the original if you’ve switched back. English and Malayalam are supported to start with. Which language would you like next?

Referral and rewards program

Invite people you know to Nisf with your personal referral link and earn rewards. How it works Share your referral link and track your progress in the app. A referral counts when the sister you invited joins Nisf and completes her Wali verification. Every 5 successful referrals unlocks a reward, so you can earn more than once. Rewards (current plan) Brothers: choose a 2-week subscription extension or a discount coupon from one of our business partners. Sisters: a discount coupon from one of our business partners (Nisf is already free for sisters). Partners include businesses like Islamic clothing and food. This is what we’ve planned so far, and the rewards and rules may change. We’d love to hear what you think. Which rewards or partner businesses would you like to see?

Events in the app

Nisf events are coming to the app. These are talks, workshops and sessions about marriage: before it, during the search, and after. Online and in-person: join from home through an online meeting, or attend at a venue. Free and paid: some events are free; others have a ticket price, which you pay when you register. For everyone, or for a specific group: some events are open to all; others are for a particular audience. Speakers: see who’s speaking, with their background, before you register. Limited seats: some events have a fixed number of places, so register early. Reminders: after you register you get a confirmation, a reminder the day before, and the joining link just before an online event starts, on WhatsApp and by email. Events will also be listed on the Nisf website. Is there a topic you’d like an event on? Tell us in the comments.
